Bone Grafts

Bone Grafts are done at our office in multiple situations.

1. If an implant is going to replace a tooth, a bone graft will usually be placed in the extraction site to preserve the bone. This is called socket preservation in dental terms.

2. We will do everything we can to save and preserve a tooth before resorting to extraction. That includes periodontal work. We are able to use our laser to destroy calculus under the gums and in tough to reach areas. These areas are then bone grafted to replace the lost bone from periodontal disease, and the laser is further used to set the area up for healing and attachment above the bone graft.
